Which people and/or entities must certify completion of the continuing broker education requirement with their status report required under 19 CFR 111.30(d)? i. Individually licensed brokers; ii. Partnerships with customs broker licenses; iii. Associations with customs broker licenses; iv. Corporations with customs broker licenses
How to get there
19 CFR 111.101: Scope… The continuing broker education requirement is for individual brokers … Individual brokers will be required to certify completion of the continuing broker education requirement with the filing of their 2027 status report, required under § 111.30(d), and every status report thereafter …
Section 111.102(c) says the same: "Individual brokers who are subject to the continuing broker education requirement must report and certify their compliance upon submission of the status report." Only item i qualifies. The answer is A.
Why the other choices are wrong
B) i and ii, C) ii, iii and iv and D) all four: partnerships, associations and corporations hold licenses and file status reports too (§ 111.30(d)(3)), but education is a personal requirement. It attaches to the individual licensed people, not the entity.
Tip
CE is a person rule: 36 credits per triennial period for each individual broker, certified on the status report starting with the 2027 report. Exempt: brokers in voluntary suspension, and those who haven't held their license for a whole triennial period (§ 111.102(a)).
