A drawback claimant must furnish a properly executed drawback bond if approved for _____ privilege.
How to get there
19 CFR 190.92(d): Accelerated payment, bond requiredIf approved for accelerated payment, the claimant must furnish a properly executed bond in an amount sufficient to cover the estimated amount of drawback to be claimed during the term of the bond. If outstanding accelerated drawback claims exceed the amount of the bond, the drawback office will require additional bond coverage …
The answer is B. The logic: accelerated payment means CBP pays drawback before the claim is liquidated. The bond protects the government if the claim later turns out to be overpaid.
Why the other choices are wrong
A) Waiver of prior notice of intent to export and D) one-time waiver of prior notice for past exports: these excuse the claimant from giving CBP advance notice of export so it can examine the goods. No money goes out early, so no bond is tied to them.
C) Exporter summary procedure: a filing simplification for exporters. It isn't the accelerated-payment privilege, and the bond requirement in § 190.92(d) attaches only to accelerated payment.
Tip
Money early → bond. If a drawback privilege puts refunds in the claimant's hands before liquidation, expect a bond. Under § 190.92(d), if outstanding accelerated claims exceed the bond, CBP requires more coverage before paying any more.
