If a Center Director extends the liquidation of an entry, the official notice of extension and reasons for the extension will be posted on www.cbp.gov. What is the minimum timeframe that the notice of extension must be maintained on www.cbp.gov?
How to get there
19 CFR 159.12(b): Notice of extensionIf the Center director extends the time for liquidation …, the official notice of extension and reasons therefor will be posted on www.cbp.gov. The notice of extension will be maintained on www.cbp.gov for a minimum of 15 months from the date of posting. The Center director will also endeavor to transmit a courtesy notice of extension to the entry filer or its agent and the surety …
The answer is D, 15 months.
Why the other choices are wrong
A) 1 month, B) 6 months and C) 12 months: all shorter than the regulation's 15-month minimum.
Tip
Extension and suspension notices under § 159.12(b) and (c) both stay on cbp.gov for at least 15 months. The emailed or electronic courtesy notice to the filer and surety is "endeavored" but isn't the official notice. Also remember that extensions can total no more than 3 years (§ 159.12(e)), and an entry not liquidated within 4 years of entry is deemed liquidated by operation of law (§ 159.12(f)).
